Professional Cheese Knives
Frequently Asked Questions
What knife is best for cutting cheese?
It depends on the type of cheese. Our Professional Cheese Knife expertly cuts firm or hard cheeses. We have a soft cheese knife for clean, professional cuts on softer, more gooey products. Use a Handee Cutter (aka a box wire) to get the thinnest slices on hard cheeses with no crumbling or sticking.
What is so special about a cheese knife?
Some of our cheese knives feature special voids in the stainless steel blades to prevent sticking. We also offer knives specifically designed for “tasting” via a special forked tip at the end. These knives, handmade in Italy with stainless steel blades and walnut handles, make it easy to get clean, efficient cuts, no matter what kind of cheese. This brings out the taste and prevents mess and waste.
Why does a cheese knife have two points?
The forked tip on the end of the knife makes it easy to spear pieces of cheese and serve them on a plate without a lot of fuss (or mess). It’s also helpful in spearing bits of crumbly cheese, like feta. Finally, the point makes it easier to handle gooey cheeses that might stick to a blade.
Do you really need a cheese knife?
The answer to, “Do you really need a cheese knife?” is “yes.” These are specially designed to make handling all varieties of this delicious food easier, more efficient, and more enjoyable. A cheese spreader knife makes working with a soft cheese neater. Other knives make cutting a slice of hard cheese safer and simpler, or handling crumbly cheese a lot less messy.
